The rebate program benefits eligible people(in PA) 65 and older; widows and widowers 50  and older; and people with disabilities 18 and older. The program  increased the income limit from $15,000 to $35,000 for homeowners, and renters from $500 to $650. The income limit for renters is $1500.

Forms and assistance also are available at Department of Revenue District Offices (listed in the government section of local telephone directories), local Area Agencies on Aging, senior centers, and state legislators' offices.

The deadline to apply for a rebate on property taxes or rent paid in 2009 is December 31. After submitting application, you may visit www.papropertytaxrelief.com and check the status of the rebate.
