Property Tax
The Board of Supervisors establishes the rate of taxation annually in accordance with the Second Class Township Code.
Property taxes are paid to three (3) taxing bodies - Fairview Township, Erie County and Fairview School District. The Township and County taxes are on one bill mailed to you by March 1 of each year. The school tax bill is mailed separately by July 1. You are allowed to take a two percent (2%) discount the first two months after the tax bill is mailed. The next two months, the bill is paid at face value. A ten (10%) penalty is added following the face period. Any taxes not paid by December 31st will be turned over to the Erie Tax Claims Bureau.

Street Light Assessments
Any area in the Township that has street lighting, is assessed on an equal basis by property owners within each street light district, for the cost of electricity to the Township. Properties within a 250 foot radius of a street light are assessed. The assessment bills are mailed and collected by the Tax Collector.
Unpaid bills after September 30 are forwarded to the Township Solicitor with interest, penalty, and attorney's fees added.
A lien will be placed on the property if no payment is received by the Solicitor's office.
Fairview Township does not own or maintain the street lights. To report a street light outage contact the Township (474-5942). Please have the pole number or nearest address if possible.
