Curbside Recycling/Trash Service
Recycling is mandatory for all residents and commercial businesses. Burning of garbage, recyclable items and/or leaf waste as defined by Act 101 and Fairview Township Ordinance #2007-3 is prohibited.
For residents, curbside service is available through Waste Management by calling 800-458-0476.
Effective January 1, 2011, The Township has a Contract with Waste Management at a fixed rate of $52.05 per quarter for unlimited service for 3 years.
- Monday pickup - residents living south of Route 20
- Wednesday pickup - residents living north of Route 20
Recyclable items are picked up on the same day as trash. During the scheduled two weeks of curbside leaf waste pickup, a separate truck is used to pick up leaf waste. Both sizes of blue recycling bins are available at the Township Office, 7471 McCray Road.
BAG SERVICE
If you are a single, a couple or have a small family and put very little trash out each week, you may want to go on the “bag service”. You will be amazed at how much you can now remove from your trash when you recycle. Please contact the recycling office for a money saving program. Under the new contract with Waste Management a package of 5 bags cost $20.00. If you only put a bag out every 2-3 weeks, this is a great savings. You can still put all of your recycling out each week
GRANT MONIES FOR RECYCLING
Did you know that the more you recycle, the more the Township will receive in the form of grants? Grant awards are based on the tonnage of recycling collected from both residential and commercial properties. Grant money enables the Township to offer you the new recycling bins at a reduced cost, to have a cleanup day and to have two sites that you can dispose of your yard and leaf waste. RECYCLING IS MANDATORY FOR ALL FAIRVIEW RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES.
