Mission Statement
The purpose of the Fairview Parks and Recreation Authority is to build a public recreation program into and about public parks, schools, grounds, and facilities for the benefit of the citizens of the community.
Additional Information
The Fairview Parks & Recreation Authority (FPRA) is a Municipal Authority, which is a not for profit organization. The FPRA office is located within the Fairview Township Municipal Building at 7471 McCray Road, Fairview, PA 16415, however the FPRA is not part of the township and does not receive tax dollars. The FPRA is self-funded by the programs offered and donations made.
The Authority Board is made up of 7 volunteer members who serve up to 2 five year consecutive terms. Four members are appointed by the Township and three are appointed by the Fairview School District. The Administrator is not a Board member. Board meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00PM at the Fairview Township Municipal Building. Meeting are open to the public.

Program schedules are mailed in The View magazine for free four times a year: Spring in mid-February, Summer in mid-May, Fall in mid-August and Winter in mid-November. Copies are also available for free at the FPRA office.
Refund Policy
Fairview Parks & Recreation Authority Program Refund Policy
It is our policy to provide an opportunity for as many people as possible to enjoy our parks and recreation opportunities. To provide the best service possible, the Fairview Parks and Recreation Authority [FPRA] reserves the right to cancel, postpone or combine classes, events or programs, or change instructors. Participants will receive a full refund if a class/program is cancelled by the FPRA due to lack of participants, facilities or qualified instruction, or the class/program has not officially begun.
Refunds:
Refunds for classes/programs are permitted as long as the participant or guardian cancels at least seven (7) days prior to the start of the class/program, etc. If cancellation is within seven (7) days to the start of the class/program, etc., refunds will only be allowed with medical documentation.
Participants will be charged for classes that have passed, attended or not attended, based on the date the refund request & medical documentation is received.
No refunds will be given for one time classes unless requested at least seven (7) days prior to the start date.
No refunds or prorating will be offered for any classes missed by a participant for any reason other than documented medical issues/family emergencies.These situations may be considered on a case-by-case basis by the FPRA Board.
Refund requests must be made in writing and submitted to the FPRA either in person, by email to [email protected] or fax to 814-474-1199.
The FPRA Board may choose to consider requests for refunds not covered under the language in this policy.
A participant may choose between a refund check or class credit.
Refund checks will be issued 3-4 weeks after the last class date in the session.
A $10.00 processing fee will be incurred by the participant or guardian for any refund request made without medical documentation.
If participant chooses a class credit it must be used by December 31 of that year.Any class credit remaining after December 31 will be lost.
Aquatics inclement weather policy:
If pool is closed due to inclement weather once an individual class starts no refund/make up class will be offered.
If pool is closed due to inclement weather prior to the start of class on more than three (3) occasions within a session then a pro-rated refund check or class credit will be issued if there is no make-up class offered.
If pool is closed by the Fairview School District due to unforeseen circumstances there will be no refunds if make-up classes cannot be scheduled.
Monday - Friday: 8:30 am- 4:00 pm - Due to our current Covid-19 situation our office hours have been reduced.
