Procedure
Application for permit MUST
BE MADE at the Township
Office and include the following:
- Plot drawing (1”=50’ scale) of structure located on the
property with size and locating dimensions
- Builder’s workers compensation insurance certificate or
notarized exemption form
- Permit fee (as listed below)
- Sewer/ Septic permit, if applicable
- Driveway permit for new residence located on a state road
- Property must be staked
Please note that these items must be completed
AT
THE TIME OF APPLICATION. Incomplete
applications will not be accepted.
The Zoning Officer will inspect the stakes to insure
the structure complies with all setback requirements. The building permit will be mailed to the applicant upon
approval. The entire
process takes approximately three (3) working days.

Construction
Permit Procedure
-
Visit
the Fairview Township Zoning Office to see what, if any, prior
approvals and local permits are required before construction can
begin.
-
Pick up
the construction permit applications and jacket from the
construction office.
-
Fill out
the construction permits and jacket. The Worker's Compensation
Insurance Coverage Information form is also required to be
submitted.

After
the construction permit jacket has been approved and signed by the
Fairview Township Zoning Office, return the construction jacket and
permits, along with 2 sets of construction drawings to the
construction office.

The code
official will review the application and drawings for code
compliance. If any more information is required, the
construction office will contact you.

The
construction office will call you when the application is approved
and ready to be picked up. All permit fees are due at this
time.

You are
now ready to start construction.

Please
request inspections 24 hours in advance. Inspection requests
can either be phoned or faxed into the office. At each
inspection the inspector will leave an inspection sticker notifying
you of the result of the inspection. Once an inspection has
been approved you m ay move onto the next phase.

When all
final inspections have been approved, a certificate of occupancy
will be signed and sent to the Fairview Township Zoning Officer.

The
Fairview Township Zoning Officer will issue the certificate of
occupancy if all prior approvals have been satisfied. Your
project is now complete.

Driveway Permit
Procedure
Fairview Township residents, businesses
and/or organizations will be required to obtain a permit for the
following:
- the
installation and/or replacement of a driveway
- any
pipe installation or other storm sewer work
Permits
may be obtained at the Fairview Township Municipal Building in the
Planning and Zoning Office, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00
PM.
NO FEE WILL BE ASSESSED FOR THE PERMITS

Peddlers License
Permit Procedure
Every
person to whom a license has been issued shall, in the
carrying of his business or activities in the Township, comply with
the following rules of conduct:

He
shall carry his license card at all times and exhibit it upon
request to any peace officer or any person upon whom he shall
call, or with whom he shall take in carrying on his licensed
activities.

He
shall not permit any person to have a possession of his license
card and shall immediately report its loss to the Township
Secretary. He shall
not cause or permit his license card to be altered or defaced.

He
shall not enter, or attempt to enter, any dwelling house without
invitation or permission of the occupant and shall immediately
leave any premises upon request.

He
shall immediately surrender his license card upon revocation of
his license as hereinafter provided.
Any
license hereinafter issued may be revoked by the Board of Supervisors
upon the failure of the licensee to comply with the standards of
conduct established, as outlined above, or upon the ascertainment that
the licensee has made any false statement in his application for
license.
Any
person whose license has been revoked shall be entitled to appear
before the Board of Supervisors at a regular or special meeting and be
heard in behalf of a request for reinstatement of his license.
